Ushering in a new age for upstate and downstate NY — through high-speed rail

State Senators Tim Kennedy of Buffalo (63-D) and Jeremy Cooney of Rochester (56-D) advocating for higher-speed rail across upstate in today's Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. Kennedy is Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee and Cooney chairs the Cities 2 Committee. Interesting quote from the piece - "Imagine your permanent home being in Western New York, the Mohawk Valley or the Hudson Valley. A short trip to a rail station will have you heading at high-speed upstate or downstate at 90 miles-per-hour, working remotely all the while." Maybe ESPA's longtime support for an achievable & realistic 90 mph top speed west of Schenectady will become reality.
